21 independent associations across Pennsylvania provide educational opportunities for members and people in the local communities on forest related topics. Although each group is independent, and missions and membership policies differ, most use meetings, field demonstrations, tours, seminars, and newsletters to provide information about forests and sound forest management to their members and people in the local communities.
A map showing the location of local woodland owner groups is available at
http://ecosystems.psu.edu/research/centers/private-forests/outreach/woodland-owners-associations. Although the map shows the predominant area served by each group, most groups welcome woodland owners from surrounding areas.
